The ADA-Config-Service is a service which serves configuration settings for 1 or more applications. Normally you would persist specific configuration settings in a separate configurationfile along with exe or Webapplication. This often leads to deployment or maintanance issues.

The Config-Service is, as it says, a configuration service which serves configuration settings for 1 or more applications. Normally in a .NET xx application you would persist specific configuration settings, like for instance AppSettings, in a separate configurationfile along with executable or Webapplication. In a practical world, this often leads to deployment or maintenance issues. P.e., connectionstrings may differ per mode (Development, Production etc) or per service-application within farm.
This is where the ADA-config-service comes in. Configuration settings can now be managed from and to a (central) service.

Also, through a callback-mechanism applications will be notified through their implemented (Config) proxy if configurationsettings are modified.

For a quickstart please check the documentation in the SDK.
